Bumpy Night on the Walk of Fame
Writer Loretta Bolger Wish
in Novel / Book
USA

After Bette Davis posthumously founds a museum-theater complex at her hometown college, the Producer on high fulfills her longtime dream of playing Scarlett O'Hara. Her cosmic do-over also scrambles eighty years of history: Ronald Reagan wins two Oscars but never become President while John F. Kennedy marries Grace Kelly and serves two terms, Marilyn Monroe will turns into a sitcom legend and Jacqueline Bouvier runs a style empire. To curator Dana Foster’s horror, the casting reboot plays havoc with her exhibits and replica Hollywood Walk of Fame. It also turns egotistical superstar Patrice Clark into a nobody just as she is about to become the museum’s first Hall of Fame inductee. This honor goes to Meryl Streep instead and Patrice's Walk of Fame star belongs to Michelle Pfeiffer. Racing against time, they form an uneasy alliance to unravel the mystery before the next day’s ceremony while Bette takes a bumpy multi-media ride and sees how all she has sacrificed by starring in Gone with the Wind and derailing her film history. When Bette makes a cameo appearance on earth to lend them a hand, the trio learns new lessons about film, fate and roads not taken.
